»Reality Check: Urban Commons«

Das 14. urbanize! Festival lädt von 3-8 OKT 2023 mit Vorträgen, Diskussionen, künstlerischen Interventionen, Stadtspaziergängen, Workshops und Festen bei freiem Eintritt zur Erkundung der Welt urbaner Gemeingüter in Theorie und Praxis

Mit »Reality Check: Urban Commons« lädt urbanize! von 3-8 OKT 2023 zur Erkundung der Welt urbaner Gemeingüter in Theorie und Praxis. Formen und Potenziale von ­Urban Commons als aktive Produktion von Raum und Gemeinschaftseigentum außerhalb der Logik von Markt oder Staat werden seit längerem diskutiert und mittlerweile international auch praktiziert. Die Welt der urbanen Commons umfasst materielle Güter wie Boden, Gebäude oder städtische Infrastruktur, gleichzeitig ist die Idee der urbanen Commons unauflöslich verknüpft mit der Praxis des Commoning, der aktiven Schaffung von Gemeingütern durch Prozesse der gemeinsamen Aushandlung, Pflege und Nutzung von Ressourcen im Sinne des Gemeinwohls.

lectures, discussions, artistic interventions, city walks, workshops and festivals with free admission

Forms and potentials of urban commons as active production of space and common property outside our logic of market or state have been discussed for a long time and are now also practised internationally

Our world of urban commons includes material goods such as land, buildings or urban infrastructure; at the same time, idea of urban commons is inextricably linked to practice of commoning, active creation of commons through processes of joint negotiation, care and use of resources for the common good
