Anis
Curated by: Philipp Netolitzky – iOnArt
In the summer of 2017, street artist and illustrator Anis came to Berlin and afterwards to Vienna to paint an area at the Gürtelbogen in Alsergrund (Lichtbogen 334), next to the art and culture center Das Werk. She used her mural to set a mark against female genital mutilation. Anis began her artistic career in 2000 in Santiago de Chile. She is a member of the Abusa crew and defines herself as a strong-willed woman. Her work is characterized by her characteristic color choice and her main motif, women. She gets inspiration through her sense of simplicity, magic and depth. Her interventions have already taken her to Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador, Germany and Austria.
