AN ONGOING ANALOG-DIGITAL REMIX PROJECT

in collaboration with four international graffiti writers – AMIGO, SCKRE, SHANE HUSS AND MUROE.

​ „The others“ is a noncommecrial collaboration project that TOFA started during the first lockdown phase of the Covid19 pandemic.

Confronted with such a diverse and massive output on all the social media channels, he was asking himself what he could do with so much input from others.

​So he developed a workflow that focuses on the conversion process from analog sketches to digital and back to analog.

With AMIGO, SCKRE, SHANE HUSS and MUROE,  his first initiative of a digital-exchange started and that’s how all those different writing styles landed on his computer. By converting them into simplified vectorized outlines, he was able to remix content with his penplotter device in multiple ways.

The result is a technique where he was working with a milling machine, a so called penplotter that allows him to mix digital media and create unique illustration artworks on paper. Different pens from gelly-rolls over fineliners up to calligraphy pens spice up the receipt. He invented also a customized touch-sensitive fiberglass pen („Thanks Reinhard Gupfinger to make it happen“) to convert any plot into a lightpainting.
