Citizens of Skateistan
Skateistan is an international family and a worldwide community of good friends. This time, legendary pro skaters and ambassadors; Tony Hawk, Jamie Thomas, and Mimi Knoop are included, as well as the many ‘Citizens of Skateistan’. With their shared passion for skateboarding, they perfectly capture what the new campaign is all about.
‚Keep Skateistan Rolling‘ fundraising campaign to date, – to raise $100,000 in one month. Their new campaign has got us all thinking, what it means to be a part of something bigger and also what’s important in life.
For us it’s our family and community. It`s wonderful how the simple essence of skateboarding brings people together. If you strip everything back and look at its core, skateboarding is a universal language that unites people from different backgrounds, all around the world. It is a culture and an art form that sees no boundaries, only opportunities; to learn, to progress and to belong. The unique community that skateboarding has created invites everyone to be a part of it. All it takes is a board and that is exactly how Skateistan began. Now, Skateistan is working across 3 countries, with skateboarding as the hook, vulnerable youth are able to access our educational programs; Skate and Create, Back to School and Youth Leadership, which prepare them to be role models in their own communities.
We all share a dream of bringing children together through skateboarding and education.
